WHO WE ARE
The Winnipeg Wave (formerly the St Johns Aqua Kings) is one of the longest operating swim clubs in Manitoba. For years we have been developing young swimmers from our entry level Ripples development programs to senior level competitive swimmers competing on the national stage. Click to open calendars for specific sessions January to April 2013 May to July 2013 COMPETITIVE GROUPS (Developmental, Junior and Senior): Our Winnipeg WAVE Competitive Group is now using TeamSnap, an online system that will make it easier for us to manage team logistics, update and distribute the team schedule, easily communicate with everyone -- and a whole bunch more. TeamSnap will help us make sure everyone knows where and when the next practice or game is, even if there are last minute changes. And it won’t cost you anything! BINGO FUNDRAISER INFORMATION: The Winnipeg Wave Swim Club will begin hosting a regular Sunday night BINGO beginning on April 7th. In preparation, we will be holding a trial run on March 24th. The Bingo fundraiser is an exciting opportunity for the Wave to increase revenue in order to keep club fees stable and to continue to develop all of our swimmers. March 1, 2013 - JUNIOR PROVINCIALS begins today! Good luck to all of our swimmers competing this weekend!
Feb 12, 2013 - The Wave had a great meet at the Selkirk Winter Chill!! We placed third overall behind the Marlins and the Seals. Coach Michael has told me the coaches could not be any more proud of what our swimmers accomplished. There were many personal best times, all the coaches want to congratulate all the swimmers on a job well done. Everybody who attended Selkirk earns a well deserved pat on the back!! Thanks to those who volunteered to help officiate (doesn't the time go faster on deck? and you can't get a better view!!), thanks to the coaches, Thanks to the Dolphins for hosting and all the officials who came out to run the meet. I hope everyone had a good time. If you have any question about the meet or getting more involved, or anything swim related ask your coach or stop by the office.
Nov 25, 2012 - Congratulations to Zac Schmitke who received the "Order of Sport Excellence" at the Swim Manitoba Awards Banquet. The Award of Merit was attained as the 2012 Top Manitoban SC ManSask - 14 Year Old-200m Breaststroke.
Nov 24, 2012 - Congratulations to our Wave Ripples swimmers and the non-competitive children from the other clubs who made the 8th Annual Winnipeg Wave Fun Meet a success. Thank to all the volunteers as well.
